Question/Issue
FPS Cert issuance is required to use the FairPlay DRM provided by Apple.
If FairPlay HLS content is played without the Cert being registered, a 7301 or 7302 license error will occur.
Brief Description
Error 7301 or 7302 in the license response occurs when the FPS certificate (cert) required for FairPlay Streaming integration is not registered in the DoveRunner service, or when the corresponding URL set in the client is entered incorrectly.
Unlike PlayReady and Widevine DRM, which do not require separate certificate issuance, FairPlay requires that our customers providing content services directly obtain approval for 'Deployment credentials' through their Apple developer account, generate a certificate, and then register it in the DoveRunner content security console.
Resolution
If you have not registered your FPS certificate
Refer to the guide linked below to apply for FPS Deployment credentials and perform certificate generation/registration.
If the certificate has been successfully registered
When integrating the client player, check if the FPS Cert URL is set in the following format. For the 'YOUR_SITE_ID' part, enter the four-digit site ID value generated when signing up for the DoveRunner service.

Basically, only content owners or content service providers can receive FPS certificates from Apple.
In cases where you do not provide content services directly, such as OVP (Online Video Platform) or cloud platform companies, you may not receive approval from Apple. In this case, please request the issuance from your customer (the company using the OVP or cloud platform) or contact the DoveRunner Help Center.
